Grateful for an outstanding experience at the HFMA Texas Gulf Coast Chapter’s “Riding the Waves of Change” Summer Conference in Galveston. 🌊

As a new HFMA member, the experience was immediately impactful.

The conference delivered what strong professional communities should: education that clarifies, connections that matter, leadership that inspires, and conversations that move ideas into action.

I had the opportunity to:

• Gain timely insights into the trends shaping healthcare finance and revenue cycle management

• Connect with healthcare leaders, peers, and solution partners

• Exchange perspectives on the challenges facing organizations today

• Explore practical strategies that can translate into measurable results

• Build new relationships and identify opportunities for meaningful collaboration

I am still learning the healthcare industry, and one thing that stood out to me is how many of the underlying business challenges are familiar.

After 28 years in oil and gas, I see strong parallels in areas such as talent, leadership, organizational effectiveness, technology, cost pressures, and the need to lead through constant change while continuing to deliver results.

Different industries, yet many of the same questions around people, performance, collaboration, and leadership.

That made the experience even more valuable for me.
